Tax Administrator
Purpose of the job
The business provides specialized Transfer Agency administration services across a range of investment products, including Unit Trusts, Hedge Funds, Pooled Portfolios, Retirement, Life, and LISP products.
This role is part of the Product Finance team. The primary responsibility of the Tax Administrator is to fulfil regulatory tax reporting obligations to SARS and other stakeholders, while also supporting product finance reporting, projects, and client servicing.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability.
Main duties and responsibilities
Perform PAYE reconciliations and payments on a monthly, bi-annual, and annual basis.
Reconcile and submit annual IRP5/IT3a certificates and ad hoc tax certificates via SARS e@syfile application.
Perform monthly, bi-annual, and annual reconciliation, payment, and submission of:
Dividend Withholding Tax (DWT)
Interest Withholding Tax (IWT)
Compile and submit SARS submission files and e-filing declarations (bi-annual and annual) including but not limited to IT3S, IT3C, IT3B, FTI, INS.
Process annual Capital Gains Tax (CGT) deductions, payments, and related reporting.
Complete annual FATCA and CRS reporting.
Manage IT88 and ITA88 payments and reconciliations.
Apply for new tax types via eFiling and demonstrate strong experience in eFiling and e@syFile for organizations.
Tax directive application and Tax Certificates creation and allocations
Prepare and process monthly Four Funds tax reporting.
Liaise with SARS, clients, and operations teams regarding tax and reporting queries.
Execute and validate distribution processes.
Participate in projects.
Contribute to product finance reporting.
Ideal experience
Knowledge of tax laws in general for Unit Trust, Retirement, Life, and LISP products.
Knowledge of the applicable LISP and CIS legislative environment (specifically the FAIS Act, Pension Funds Act, Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, Long-Term Insurance Act).
Knowledge of 3rd party data submission experience.
Ideal qualifications
Ideally, candidates will have a relevant tertiary qualification, such as a bachelor’s degree/postgraduate qualification in taxation, Finance, or Accounting
A minimum of 3 years of tax-related work experience
Competencies and ideal attributes
Knowledge of the SARS reporting requirements for FATCA, DWT, IWT, IT3, and INS would be ideal

Software, Systems knowledge
Tax Filing & Compliance Platforms
SARS eFiling – Essential in South Africa for submitting returns (PAYE, VAT, IT, DWT, etc.)
e@syFile – For managing EMP501 reconciliations and IRP5/IT3a certificates
Proficient in the MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills essential
Software
Flexcube, Pastel, CaseWare, and Digiata (highly advantageous)
